The USM 23 EX Flaw detector is contained in a plastic housing and is designed for operation in explosion endangered areas, according to EN 50020, aimed classes: EEx ib I (gas mine areas) and EEx ib IIA T4 (explosion endangered areas). Only the permitted probes and batteries are to be used when using the instrument in an explosion endangered area. The USM23Ex has a frequency range of 0.1 - 15 MHz and can be used on large test objects due to a maximum calibration range of 10m in steel.

NRS Bi-Directional Rail Walking Stick
The NRS 70-0-70 trolley has a zero degree twin compression wave probe and two seventy degree shear wave twin probes mounted between adjustable rollers one looking forward and one looking to the rear. Coupling of the ultrasound into the track is achieved using a controlled water feed from the plastic water bottle mounted on the back of the trolley. The swivel plate is used to allow the Flaw Detector to be positioned to the left or right of the trolley to suit the requirements of the operator. There is a switch box mounted on the top of the trolley to balance the outputs from the probes to the ultrasonic flaw detector, so that each probe operates at the same sensitivity. An encoder measures the distance along the rail the trolley has traveled.
