Protocol & Calibration Gases

In addition to the Protocol gases listed on the website, Ashtead Technology Rentals offers certified calibration gases that can be used for engineering studies and non-compliance audits. Examples include: Propane, Methane, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, Hydrogen Chloride and Oxygen. Percent level gases available upon request. Ashtead Technology also has a large selection of pure gases for specific industry process applications. In addition to our pure gases, Ashtead Technology carries certified Zero gases and FID fuel blends available for next day shipping. Call today to find out more!

EPA Protocol Gases

Protocol Propane (C4H6)

Protocol Propane Gases in balance air are available in span ranges from 0-10 ppm up to 10% (100,000 ppm). Propane standards are used to calibrate FID instruments designed to measure Total Hydrocarbon Emission for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 25A & CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 8A .

Protocol Methane (CH4)

Protocol Methane Gases in balance air are available in span ranges from 0-10 ppm up to 10% (100,000 ppm). Methane standards are used to calibrate FID instruments and for determining total gaseous non-methane organics for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 25A & CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 8A .

Protocol Carbon Monoxide (CO)

Protocol Carbon Monoxide Gases in balance Nitrogen are available in span ranges from 0-10 ppm up to 10% (100,000 ppm). Carbon Monoxide standards are used to calibrate Continuous Emission Monitors designed to measure CO for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 10 & CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 4 .

Protocol Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

Protocol Carbon Dioxide Gases are available in span ranges from 0-25%. Carbon Dioxide standards are used to calibrate Continuous Emission Monitors designed to measure CO2 for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 3, CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 3 & CFR 40 Part 75 .

Protocol Oxygen (O2)

Protocol Oxygen Gases are available in span ranges from 0-25%. Oxygen standards are used to calibrate Continuous Emission Monitors designed to measure O2 for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 3 & CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 3 .

Protocol Nitric Oxide (NOx)

Protocol Nitric Oxide Gases in balance Nitrogen are available in span ranges from 0-10 ppm up to 1% (10,000 ppm). Nitric Oxide standards are used to calibrate Continuous Emission Monitors designed to measure NOx for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 7E, CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 2 & CFR 40 Part 75 .

Protocol Sulfur Dioxide (SO2)

Protocol Sulfur Dioxide Gases in balance Nitrogen are available in span ranges from 0-50 ppm up to 1% (10,000 ppm). Sulfur Dioxide standards are used to calibrate Continuous Emission Monitors designed to measure SO2 for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 6C, CFR 40 Part 60 Performance Specification 2 & CFR 40 Part 75 .

Protocol Hydrogen Chloride (HCL)

Protocol Hydrogen Chloride Gases in balance Nitrogen are available in span ranges from 0-50 ppm up to .5% (5,000 ppm). Hydrogen Chloride standards are used to calibrate instruments designed to measure HCL for compliance reporting. Applicable EPA methods: USEPA Method 321 .

Ashtead Technology also supplies 1 and 2 stage regulators with the applicable CGA fitting. Examples include 330, 350, 580, 590, 660 and 705 CGA. Ashtead Technology has implemented Airgas’s best practices testing procedure; each regulator is pressurized, cleaned and re-tested before and after every rental. The best practices testing procedure guarantees a quality safe product free from interferences.
