James Christie steps up to SUT Singapore Chair

27 January 2021

Ashtead Technology’s very own James Christie has been appointed as Chair of the Singapore chapter of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT), effective from 1 January 2021.

James, who is Regional Director for the APAC region in his day job, is only the third chairperson to have been elected to the post by industry peers since the chapter was founded in 2015.

He will take over from outgoing chair Anthony Gleeson, with Colin Campbell continuing to assist in his role as Deputy Chairman.

The Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) is a multidisciplinary learned society that brings together organisations and individuals with a common interest in underwater technology, ocean science and offshore engineering.

James Christie, Ashtead Technology’s APAC Regional Director, said: “I’m delighted to have been elected to the role of chairperson, and I plan to build on our successful foundations to increase the scope and membership of the chapter throughout 2021 and beyond.

“The chapter has historically enjoyed strong business and social ties with the Perth, Australia branch, which we will continue to nurture as we formulate an exciting programme of knowledge-sharing events and seminars.”
