Olympus Swing Prism Borescope –  Available for rental/hire from Ashtead Technology.

Ideal for look-see applications, the Olympus Swing Prism Borescope is a much more cost effective inspection method than using a traditional Videoprobe as it allows you to quickly scan the inside of your application area and assess whether or not a further, more detailed inspection is required.

With an outer diameter of 8.1mm and 31cm stainless steel insertion tube, the rigid borescope was built specifically for inspecting straight spaces with a small access point and utilises a special swing prism mechanism which allows a total viewing arc of 120°, from 20 to 140°.

The Olympus Swing Prism Borescope produces sharp images which help with reducing fatigue as they apply less pressure to the inspector’s eyes. The unit also utilises an ergonomic control section, which sits comfortably in the operator’s hand.

Suitable for harsh working environments, the rigid borescope features a stainless steel insertion tube which is usable at temperatures between –20°C and 150°C. The unit also rents with a 1.8m liquid light guide to support inspection areas with limited lighting.
