RAE Systems - Repair & Calibrations

Ashtead Technology offers repair and calibration services for a number of RAE Systems instruments including the MiniRAE 2000, MiniRAE 3000, UltraRAE 3000 and ppbRAE. Using RAE approved parts, accessories and gases, all repairs and calibrations are completed internally by our RAE trained engineers.

Services include:

  • Diagnostics & repair – the diagnostics service allows us to quickly identify the fault and advise you on what repairs are required to get the unit functioning again. Once we’ve created the repair strategy, we’ll advise you of the  costs. Repairs will only take place with your approval. Most common  repairs are completed in our workshop. Where applicable we can also arrange for your equipment to be sent directly to RAE Systems in the UK.
  • Calibration – with the relevant parts and gases readily available, we’re able to provide a quick turn around for standard calibrations. Once your calibration has been completed, we’ll contact you to arrange delivery of your unit and ensure the calibration details are added to our asset management system. This will then automatically notify you when your calibration next expires.
  • Asset management – our asset management service takes the hassle out of maintaining your instrument and ensures you never miss a calibration. We notify you when a calibration is due, can offer rental instruments to minimise any disruption to your workflow and offer a collection and delivery service; all you need to do is a raise a PO and put on the address label!

Rental instruments
To minimise any disruptions to your workload, we can also offer rental replacements whilst your units are in for repair or calibration. The rental fleet includes the MiniRAE 2000, MiniRAE 3000, UltraRAE 3000 and the ppbRAE. You can rent one of our units for the duration of your repair or calibration, subject to availability at the time.

Which instruments can be repaired or calibrated?

Does Ashtead carry spare parts?
We carry an extensive range of commonly used spare parts. We may need to order some items directly from RAE Systems, which are usually available on a next-day delivery.

Do you use genuine parts?
Yes, all parts are ordered directly from RAE Systems.

How are costs managed for repairs?
All costs will be confirmed with you before any work takes place.

Can Ashtead offer collection of equipment needing repair?
Yes – just call the office to get a quotation, which will vary according to the volume of equipment.

Can I just turn up and expect a repair to be completed?
Generally no, this is not possible as we have limited resource which may already be committed for other repair jobs. It is best to call us in advance to check current lead times.
