We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electronic Technician to join our Survey & Robotics team based out of our offices in Houston, Texas.
Primary functions of this position are to ensure all equipment is prepared, tested, labelled, identified, stored safely, calibrated and packaged appropriately before delivery. To carry out electrical safety tests as required by regulations. To maintain and complete work orders and customer records in the ERP.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Equipment
• Responsible for inspection, testing, effective repair maintenance and preparation of equipment for hire.
• Ensuring kit is fully functional, complete, accurately documented, photographed and professionally presented
• Ensure that equipment packaging provides appropriate protection and is suitable for safe transport and storage
• Off-hiring and testing equipment returning from hire as per workshop procedures
• Ensure quality control steps are performed on equipment
• Assist in sourcing parts and materials for repairs or maintenance
• Provide input on design and manufacture of engineered solutions Testing and commissioning new equipment
• Carry out electrical safety tests as required by regulations
• Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in company risk assessments for various tasks required to be carried out as required
Documentation
• Documenting any missing/damaged equipment
• Assist with invoice preparation for rechargeable repairs
• Ensuring equipment is labelled, identified and complete with all spares and ancillary equipment
• Ensure all technical manuals, checklists and spare kit lists are up to date
• Assist with and/or develop content for documentation and testing procedures
• Conduct fault reporting for missing or damaged equipment
• Maintain the stock control system used for spares and consumables, report any shortages
• Completing export details as required
Support
• Provide effective technical support to customers and be available for on call support as required
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, on weekdays, evenings and weekends as needed
Other
• Be willing to travel offshore at relatively short notice
• Any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the line manager
• Adhere to Ashtead Technology’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and industry standards
• Deliver parts and equipment to customers when necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
• Qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering other technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
• Track record of experience in a technician/engineering role undertaking repair, maintenance and testing of electronic equipment, preferably in a subsea environment
• Extensive knowledge of subsea equipment
• Problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Preferable to have worked offshore in the past but not essential
PERSONAL QUALITIES
• Professional attitude, uses initiative, good time management and organizational skills making them able to reprioritise in order to meet deadlines
• Keen to take on additional responsibility and lend a hand when needed
• Willing to be flexible with working hours in order to assist with operational demands
