Project Engineer – AI Product Development

We are looking for a Project Engineer – AI Product Development to join our Team based in Westhill.

This role is responsible for the Asset Integrity product range and development of new products. Working with Ashtead Technology’s Asset Integrity team, this role will have primary focus on development of new products, support and continuous improvement of existing products, qualification and testing of products, development of product documentation and delivery of product training. This role is based onshore, with occasional requirement to travel in support of projects as and when required.

Principal Accountabilities

• Work with the AI team to identify new product opportunities

• Research existing best in class technology

• Research potential market opportunity

• In conjunction with AI management team gate new product development opportunities

• Manage an AI product development plan

• Manage the design and build of new AI products

• Manage qualification and test of new and existing AI products

• Manage build records and design drawings

• Prepare technical documentation including manuals

• Prepare product test procedures

• Prepare and manage product marketing collateral

• Purchase parts / materials ensuring delivery schedules are met

• Manage field support of new products

• Through customer feedback and internal test results manage the product development/ improvement plan

• Adhere to company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and industry standards

• Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in company risk assessments for various tasks required to be carried out as required

• Any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the engineering and operations management



• Diploma or degree in electronics/mechatronics engineering field or equivalent industry experience

• Experience in a technical role liaising with clients and suppliers, preferably in a subsea technology environment

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Experience working in an offshore environment is considered an asset Knowledge of subsea electro-mechanical equipment is highly desirable
