Tell us about your time at Ashtead Technology so far.
My journey began as a trainee in 2019, starting up my career in the industry. In April 2021, I went on my first offshore project, marking a significant milestone in my professional development. By April 2022, I had earned a promotion to maintenance technician, which gave me the opportunity to become more involved in a variety of onshore and offshore projects. In March 2024, I was given the exciting opportunity to use my technical expertise in a new capacity. Joining the sales team, I now apply my skills and knowledge to assist in assigning equipment to meet our customers’ diverse needs.

Can you share a piece of work that was a highlight of your traineeship?
One of the highlights of my traineeship was my first trip offshore to the Netherlands during my second year. It was a significant milestone for me as I was trusted with the responsibility to demonstrate my skills and knowledge about our equipment. Representing the company for the first time in my career was a great experience.
What piece of advice would you give trainees in their first role?
Having the right mindset to learn and a strong desire for knowledge is essential when starting as a trainee. The role can be challenging, especially given the fast-paced environment and occasional short notice of tasks. However, as I always say, there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Never hesitate to ask if you’re unsure; you’ll be guided and shown what you need to know.
What aspirations do you hold for your new career path at Ashtead Technology?
I aspire to continue advancing within Ashtead Technology. I am committed to contributing meaningfully to the organisations success and am eager to take on new challenges and responsibilities as they arise.
