Cable pull-in Moray West Offshore Wind Farm

Overview

The team at ACE Winches successfully completed the pull-in of two 245kV offshore export cables for the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm.

The contract covered the provision of equipment and personnel for all winch-related tasks for the cable pull-in operations, from the cable lay vessel to the landfall transition joint bay near Sandend Bay, Aberdeenshire. The total cable length measured approximately 50km.

Solution

Full scope of supply included a comprehensive set of equipment and personnel for the project:

  • 75 tonne working load limit hydraulic drum winch
  • 200kW diesel hydraulic power unit
  • Two 27.5 tonne safe working load snatchblocks
  • Running line monitor’s
  • Wire rope

All equipment operated and maintained by two of our expert personnel to ensure the seamless execution of cable pull-in operations.
