We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Solutions Engineer to join our team based in Broussard, LA.
Under the Mechanical Solutions division the Mechanical Solutions Engineer will ensure that all design engineering conforms to legislation, regulations, standards and sound engineering practices as well as Ashtead internal procedures. You will be involved in problem solving, engineering design, planning and review with solutions team, stake holders and clientele for various subsea tooling applications including but not limited to fluid intervention, mechanical interfaces and cutting solutions.
Principal accountabilities:
• Must install and maintain a safety and quality culture in every action and decision within the engineering design function.
• Problem solving, engineering design, planning and review with solutions team, stake holders and clientele for various subsea tooling applications including but not limited to fluid intervention, mechanical interfaces and cutting solutions
• Liaise with workshop team to ensure all risk assessments are completed prior to commissioning, function testing, pressure testing or operational testing of any newly designed equipment.
• Identification of suitable suppliers for required parts and components for safe and effective use either for new designs or for existing equipment. Identification of necessary documentation / test reports or certificates for components or parts.
• Communication with suppliers – submissions of purchase orders and ordering of parts and components where required. Liaise with office administration and procurement on ordering.
• Inspection of ordered goods to ensure conformity to purchase orders and Ashtead requirements.
• Create and deliver operations / maintenance and safety manuals for new designed equipment – update existing manuals as necessary.
• Practical involvement with workshop activities – aiding with and/or overseeing manufacture, assembly and testing activities for both new and modified tooling.
• Full understanding / knowledge of and ability to produce operational and maintenance documentation and engineering drawings and/or schematics for design, manufacture, assembly and testing.
• Preparation of calculations, management of design packages and performance reviews.
• Participate in pre- and post-job review meetings. Participate in close out and implementation of corrective actions, resulting from NCR’s and customer input.• xLiaise with QHSE and aid in the investigations and reporting of failures, NCRs etc.
• Liaise with other departments including tendering, projects and business development to aid the wider team in securing and successfully executing project scopes.
Experience, Qualifications and Person Specification:
• Engineering Degree/ Mechanical Engineering, Cad, AutoCAD etc.
• Significant experience using SolidWorks is required.
• 5+ years’ experience in the O&G Industry, preferably in IRM and decommissioning mechanical tooling.
• Problem-solving capabilities and strong team worker.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our team based in Broussard, Louisiana, USA.
In this role you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, repair and preparation of stand-alone and integrated subsea survey equipment and/or tooling packages, ensuring that equipment is fully functional and documented before delivery to our customers. You will maintain and complete work orders and customer records in the Company’s ERP. Being able to package and secure equipment to meet transport requirements and complete export details is also essential.
You will be required to off-hire and test returning equipment, as per workshop procedures, and document any missing and/or damaged items. You will be able to carry out any necessary repairs to manufacturer standards, adhering to the stock control system used for spares and consumables and reporting shortages or issues to the Storeman.
An effective team-worker, you will enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, and will be friendly, approachable, and willing to help out where needed. You will also be required to provide on call support on rotation.

Ashtead Technology has an immediate opening for CNC Programmer/Machinist at our Broussard, Louisiana facility.
Accountable for taking direction from the department head, fully understanding applicable policies, rules, and regulations, and working with safety as a high priority. Candidate must have 5+years minimum experience in setting up equipment and operation.
Skills:
• Must be able to programme and operate
• Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings
• Capable to create programs and operate Mazak CNC Mill
• Attention to detail, able to hold tight tolerances, and make complex parts
• Understand and properly use machine tooling, including inserts, end mills, drills, boring bars
• Understand and properly use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, travel indicators, plug and ring gages. Analog, Digital or Vernier
• Self-motivated, ability to work well with others, problem-solving, and troubleshoot with engineers to optimize the machining process, improve set up time, and develop efficiencies on machine room floor
• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, with the ability to apply mathematical functions
• Multi-task, work with a sense of urgency, meet tight deadlines, and work overtime if required
• Able to keep team members, leaders, and necessary co-workers informed and communicate when assistance is needed
• Able to complete work order requests. Fulfill orders for production
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent trade schooling
• Preferred 5+ years CNC programming experience
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Ability to stand on feet for up to 8-hour shifts
