As External Sales Engineer at Ashtead Technology, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales revenue through direct external engagement with our current and prospective clients.

You will secure revenue, ensuring repeat business from existing clients through superior client service.

You will drive increased market share for all of our service lines, providing market and client intelligence to our internal sales team and have influence over our bid and pricing strategies to win work!

You will be client focused, developing robust and effective business relationships, build trust and confidence in our ability to deliver and identify and help develop technical solutions.

Ultimately, you will deliver an excellent service to our clients!

Experience in a similar role within the offshore equipment & services sector, preferably in a subsea environment focusing on Survey.

• You have demonstrable experience in proactively engaging & managing client relationships, winning and securing new business effectively.

• You understand the principals of key account management and the importance of maintaining robust sales & marketing data, and market intelligence.

• You have clear commercial instinct and acumen

• Strong interpersonal skills; you can build relationships easily and influence, negotiating effectively

What you’ll be doing:

As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all orders for Ashtead Technology are efficiently, safely and profitably executed for our clients. This role is critical in meeting and exceeding our clients expectations, allowing us to ensure we retain business long term.

You will also be involved in;

• Driving excellence and ensuring operational support matters are dealt with promptly & professionally, making this aspect a key attribute of the Ashtead brand.

• Managing the performance of the workshop staff, ensuring they are adequately informed, trained and meeting expectations.

• Prioritising workshop resources to optimally meet business demands.

• Optimising the performance of the warehouse – driving improvements in efficiency, eliminating backlogs, and implementing lean processes to continually improve efficiency.

• Managing and seeking continual improvement in the management and efficient turn-around of rental assets within the Region, and managing support priorities for international locations.

• Promoting teamwork between the sales and workshop functions, actively breaking down traditional barriers and inefficiencies.

• Managing and reviewing the cost base against budget, and continually seeking efficiency improvements

What experience you’ll bring:

• Proven track record in an operations managerial role within the subsea or similar industry

• Thorough technical, operational and commercial knowledge of the offshore survey, IRM and ROV tooling business

• Strong leadership, ability to manage conflicting priorities and allocation of resources in a dynamic business environment

• Well-organised and decisive with excellent communication skills
