What you’ll be doing:

Working within our Mechanical Solutions division, our Mechanical Technicians are involved in the operations of subsea cutting, dredging and cleaning equipment. This is a dynamic opportunity that will put you in a fundamental role within the world of offshore and onshore operations.

You will operate, maintain, function test and repair, cutting edge technology while travelling offshore to client projects. Onshore work will require you to be present at our thriving workshop in Thainstone, where you will assist with maintenance and repairs, be involved in operational and training activities, as well as any other relevant tasks as identified.

Some of your other responsibilities will include;

• Safe operation of all equipment at the worksite, in accordance with Mechanical Solutions QHSE policies and procedures

• Identification of existing hazards at the worksite, considering the surroundings and the prevailing meteorological conditions, while liaising with QHSE to aid investigations and reporting of failures, NCRs and OFI’s

• Interaction with the client’s representative on offshore trips in relation to planning, organising and executing the job

• Participation in toolbox talks as well as pre and post job review meetings, ensuring risk assessments are completed and reviewed and close out and implementation of corrective actions as a result of NCR’s and customer complaints are complete

• Completion of all required paperwork in a timely manner for all work carried out, inclusive of, but not limited to, maintenance reports, project reports, cutting logs, timesheets and expenses, customer satisfaction, damage reports and preventive actions

What will help you to be successful in this role?

• HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience

• Previous experience in subsea offshore operations in IRM and decommissioning, undertaking repair, maintenance and testing in a subsea environment

• Involvement in operating subsea, cutting, dredging and cleaning tools with abrasive experience preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Being a team player who is happy to get stuck in

What you’ll be doing:

As Yard Operative, you will manage & maintain the yard at our office in Thainstone ensuring it’s always kept clean & tidy.

You will also be involved in taking delivery of goods, checking off the goods delivered and storing them in a safely manner.

You will also spend time working in the warehouse, assisting technicians as required with equipment maintenance and take on Banksman/Slinging duties as required.

What will help you be successful in this role?

• Previous experience managing a Yard, making suggestions regarding best practice yard layout to improve efficiencies.

• You are Fork Lift Truck (FLT) certified with previous FLT driving experience & competent in moving heavy loads on/off vehicles (up to 15 tonnes)

• Full UK Clean driving licence

What you’ll be doing:

On occasion you will travel to client premises to pre-mob or de-mob equipment as well as carry out familiarisation training with 3rd parties. Other training activities can also be involved throughout the role.
