As Mechanical Solutions Operations Manager for our APAC region, you will take the lead on all operational activities for the Mechanical Solutions product service line which is integral to our growth in the region.

Upon joining, one of your first projects as Operations Manager will be to fit out a new Mechanical Solutions facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia! This facility will need to be suitable for our Mechanical Solutions and Winch Product service line.

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, some of your key responsibilities will be;

• Project Management – overseeing the scheduling and resourcing of offshore projects, ensuring all project risk is considered, recorded and communicated to the end client.

• Supply Chain – creating a supply chain in the Malaysia that can support operations in the region & partner with operations and warehouse teams globally to source and allocate the equipment as required, ensuring the safe, efficient & on-time mobilization of project equipment from the workshop locally.

• Facility & Equipment Management –fitting out a new facility in Malaysia, co-ordinating the workspace/facility requirements and equipment resources as required.

• Resourcing & Recruitment – Overseeing the recruitment of all operational personnel, ensuring they are competent and fully trained for their role. You will also manage the technician resources and ensure all projects are delivered with competent personnel.

• Client Management – Ensuring operational technical support matters are dealt with promptly and professionally, making this aspect a key attribute of the Ashtead Technology brand.

• Financial management – you will provide input towards budgeting, reporting and business planning activities and hold responsibility for the project budget and forecasting, including working on CAPEX, and adopting a ‘no surprises’ approach to reporting and communication.

What you’ll be doing:

As ROV Tooling Workshop Supervisor, you will support the Workshop Manager in ensuring that the workshop operates in an efficient and safe manner. You will also be responsible for the welfare of the workshop personnel and equipment, delegating work as required.

Day to day you’ll be involved in;

• Liaising with internal and external customers, ensuring all work undertaken is done so efficiently, in a safe manner and in accordance with customer requirements.

• Overseeing, participating in, and ensuring successful and safe completion of projects required for off/onshore operations.

• Delegating where required, supervising, and overseeing workshop and yard activity, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in-line with company policies and procedures, along with necessary regulations legislative requirements.

• Ensuring all equipment and accessories remain within all required certification dates. i.e. LOLER / lifting certification, pressure test certification, calibration etc.

• Ensuring all relevant and necessary tooling and equipment maintenance activities are carried out at set, planned intervals, and as required for operational requirements liaising with the Commercial Manager.

• Liaising with QHSE and aiding in the investigations and reporting of failures, NCRs, OFI’s and Accidents & Incidents.

• Participating in the development of the Workshop team.

• Participating in pre and post job review meetings and ensuring all risk assessments are completed and regularly reviewed. Participate in close out and implementation of corrective actions, resulting from NCR’s and customer complaints.

• Ensuring all tasks that are being carried out have been suitable risk assessed where required, toolbox talks conducted as required with the necessary controls put into place. Ensuring all relevant personnel are familiarized with required controls and ensure they are enforced and followed.

• Ensuring workshop and yard remain clean, tidy, and environmentally friendly, with substances, tooling, equipment, and any other items being put away after use and stored in the correct manner

What experience you’ll bring:

This is a hands-on role, and the ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and servicing hydraulics, hydraulic systems and subsea equipment.

As this is a supervisory role, you will have previous experience in leading or managing teams, at a level suitable where you can give advice and instruction to the workshop team.

What you’ll be doing:

As Onshore Survey Technician, you’ll be part of our Survey & Robotics team. You will be responsible for ensuring all survey equipment is prepared, tested, labelled, identified, stored, calibrated and packaged correctly before going out for delivery.

Day to day you’ll be involved in;

• Inspecting, testing & repairing stand-alone and integrated subsea survey equipment and/or tooling packages.

• Ensuring equipment for hire is accurately documented, photographed, and professionally presented.

• Off-hiring and testing equipment returning from hire.

• Completing repairs of equipment to manufacturer standards.

• Travelling offshore/dockside to assist clients as required.

• Carrying out electrical safety tests as required by regulations.

• Providing on call support as part of a rotation.

What experience you’ll bring:

• You will hold a qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering/ other technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience

• You have experience in a Technician/Engineering role undertaking repair, maintenance, and testing of electronic equipment, preferably in a subsea environment

What you’ll be doing:

Joining Ashtead Technology as a Trainee Electrical Engineer, you will work with experienced team members to gain practical experience & knowledge in various aspects of electronics engineering.

This is a varied role where one day you could be in the workshop preparing and testing equipment for hire or sale, and the next day attending vessels for system commission!

You will also be involved in the assembly, preparation and test of Ashtead Technology’s proprietary ROV subsea inspection and remote monitoring systems for use with our energy sector clients worldwide.
